The South Korean prosecutor’s office is launching an investigation into Kim Jong Un’s sister

The South Korean prosecutor’s office announced on Thursday that it would launch an investigation into Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, for destroying the link between the two countries.

The investigation is based on a complaint filed by South Korean lawyer Lee Kyung Jae against Kim Yo Jong, the first vice president of the Central Committee of the North Korean Workers’ Party, and the chief of staff of the Armed Forces, General Pak Jong Chon.

The lawyer, who filed the complaint on July 8 but was not assigned to a judicial office until Monday, accuses the sister and the general of the liaison office in the border town of Kaesong, North Korean.

The office, through which the two Koreas maintained an open communication channel despite the fact that they were still technically at war, was demolished on June 16 in retaliation for the launch of leaflets against Kim Jong Un by South Korean activists.
