At least four people were injured in a series of accidents on Tuesday on a Berlin autobahn, which the public prosecutor initially classified as an “Islamist-motivated attack”, although this does not rule out any hypothesis.
The accidents resulted in three serious injuries and just as many minor injuries, including a motorcyclist, according to a spokesman for the fire department. Some sections of this street near the center of the German capital were still closed this Wednesday morning.
“From what we know so far, it is an Islamist-motivated attack,” said a spokesman for the public prosecutor. However, it was also pointed out that the suspect, identified as a 30-year-old Iraqi and in custody, suffers from mental health problems.
