The prosecutor for ‘Lava Jato’ has called for Fujimori to be arrested for violating his conditions of liberty

The prosecutor of the special team ‘Lava Jato’, José Domingo Pérez, applied for the preventive detention of the presidential candidate Keiko Fujimori this Thursday, because she had violated the conditions of her conditional release in the course of the investigation against her because of an alleged money laundering offense.

Pérez has stated that Fujimori has violated one of the restrictions placed on him in return for his release from prison in early May 2020, namely not communicating with other witnesses in the case for which he is accused of illegal funding by construction company Odebrecht for his 2011 and 2016 presidential elections.

“The Defendant Fujimori Higuchi was again found to fail to comply with the restriction on non-communication with the witnesses; therefore, it was established as public and well known that she was communicating with the witness Miguel Torres Morales,” it can be read in the pleading Pérez referred to the judge in the Víctor Zúñiga Urday case.

In the same document, Pérez offers a picture of the public meeting between Fujimori and Torres Morales that Wednesday, at which the Conservative leader announced legal action before the National Electoral Jury (JNE) and where he would appear as an advocate for Fuerza Popular.
