The Polish court repeals the resolution on “Preventing the LGTBI ideology” and calls it unconstitutional

An administrative court in the Polish city of Gliwice on Tuesday annulled a decision by the authorities of the Istebna municipality to try to “prevent the LGTBI ideology” because the measure was unconstitutional and discriminatory.

The court’s decision was made after the Ombudsman appealed the decision in late 2019, as reported by the PAP news agency.

Similar resolutions have been passed in dozens of Polish communities and regions against the LGTBI community, which has generated national and international criticism.

For the court, the decision violates several provisions of the Polish constitution, including equality of all citizens before the law and the prohibition of discrimination.
