The Philippine authorities reported 186 new deaths from coronavirus this Saturday after including 126 deaths that had not previously been classified and reviewed as a result of the new disease.
Additionally, the official bulletin includes 4,935 new cases discovered in the past 24 hours. According to the Philippine television broadcaster ABS-CBN, the country has a total of 257,863 positive cases since the pandemic began.
It’s the fifth day in a row with more than 3,000 new cases per day and 895 more than on Friday. In addition, up to 1,619 of the new cases come from the Manila area.
The Philippine Ministry of Health also states that after the addition of 659, recovery is already 187,116, active cases are 66,455, and of them 89.2 percent have mild symptoms.
The Philippines is the Southeast Asian country hardest hit by the new coronavirus after the number of cases doubled in the past five weeks despite the re-introduction of travel restrictions.
