The Philippine Department of Health has confirmed a further 42 coronavirus deaths across the country, although it has been made clear that some of the deaths are from earlier days and have been included in the past few hours.
Nevertheless, the country is still on alert due to the corona virus. 1,233 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections to 52,914. The total number of deceased is 1,360.
For this reason, the Filipino authorities have asked the population to maintain discipline, especially at a time when the World Health Organization (WHO) no longer excludes indoor aerobic infections.
“We urge people to continue to maintain a minimum level of public health, such as the use of face masks, hand washing, and the practice of social distancing,” said Presidency spokesman Harry Roque.
Since June 1, the Philippine government has eased restrictions, particularly on the island of Luzon, the most populous in the country and home to the capital, Manila, and fears that infections will resume.
