The government of the Philippines has confirmed more than 5,000 coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours this Sunday, and has brought more than 100,000 infections to the Asian country since the pandemic began.
The Philippine Ministry of Health said that 5,032 cases were confirmed on the last day, for a total of 103,185. Another 20 people died, which corresponds to 2,059 deaths.
It was also found that a further 301 people had recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, for which 65,557 people already live in the country.
The ministry also detailed that there are currently 35,569 active cases in the country, 90.2 percent of which are minor. 8.2 percent, asymptomatic; one percent, difficult and 0.7 percent, critical.
