The Philippines has recorded a record nearly 4,000 new cases of coronavirus in a single day, increasing the total number of people infected to over 89,000, the Ministry of Health reported on Thursday.
3,954 new cases and 23 further deaths have been registered in the last 24 hours, increasing the COVID-19 balance in the Philippines to 89,374 infected and 1,983 deaths.
Of the total, 22,327 cases are still active – 88 percent of which are mild – while another 65,064 people have recovered, according to the Filipino newspaper “The Phil Star”.
