The Peruvian National Police arrested Police Aviation Director General Alfredo Andrés Vildoso Rojas this Saturday for alleged responsibility for the irregular purchases of masks to protect the facility’s staff during the coronavirus pandemic.
Vildoso, along with five others, including police and civilians, was detained for 15 days following a raid on their homes. All are being investigated for the case of irregular purchases of more than 20,000 N95 masks and other biosecurity and cleaning products against COVID-19 for the Police Aviation Directorate personnel, reports the RPP station.
In addition, the chief of the flight safety department, PNP commander Oscar Arones Canova; the Head of Logistics, PNP Commander Omar Romel Puente Auccapoma; the Head of Contracts, Ensign PNP Pool Jhansen Olortegui Yauli; the former head of logistics, Lieutenant Leonardo David Oblitas Bozovich and the lawyer Miguel Eduardo Vásquez Neyra.
The arrest of the general store manager, Major PNP Jesús Ernesto Benancio Cisneros, lawyer Luisa Fabiola Carrillo Vásquez and the supplier Patrick Alonzo Oblitas Bozovich are still pending.
According to the tax investigation, the company Ka’llinson Perú SA, preferred by the companies examined as suppliers, would have served as the front in the buying process since the masks it sold to Diravpol were the same ones it had bought through a third party the company Bozovich y Asociados Safety SAC, whose partners are Lieutenant PNP Leonardo Oblitas, his brother Patrick Oblitas and their mother.
