The Peruvian Medical Association announces a strike of 48 for failure to comply with their demands

The Peruvian Medical Federation (FMP), an organization that brings together health professionals working in the public sector, announced this Monday, due to a lack of will, a 48-hour national parade for the next few days on August 26th and 27th Politics for their demands to be met amid the health crisis caused by COVID-19.

In a letter to the current Minister of Health, Pilar Mazzetti, the FMP informed her that the decision was taken after the government demonstrated the lack of “concrete solutions” to the union’s proposals.

The FMP has asked the government to invest up to 5 percent of GDP in the public health sector by next year, on top of the Ministry of Health’s obligation to regularly provide personal safety equipment to cope with the newly infected coronavirus.

Measures also include that the return to face the health crisis of doctors over 60 and under 65 with no risk diseases is voluntary and that the payments of government promised bonds are promised for the professionals who work in Front Against the pandemic .
