The Chinese Ministry of Health has reviewed over a hundred new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, while the pandemic doesn’t end in the Xinjiang region, where authorities decided two weeks ago to close its capital, Urumqi, at the top of infections.
The Chinese health authorities registered 127 new positives on Thursday, 123 from local transmission and four imported. Of the locally transmitted, 112 were discovered in Xinjiang, home of the Uyghur Muslim minority. The rest were diagnosed in Liaoning Province.
Regarding overseas cases, three were confirmed in Guangdong Province and one in Tianjin. China has already registered 2,063 imported cases, while the worldwide number in the Asian country has risen to 84,292.
The Chinese Ministry of Health has also confirmed 11 new asymptomatic cases of COVID-19, including five from abroad. In total, the Chinese health authorities reported 246 asymptomatic cases, 93 from abroad.
