The Palestinian Prime Minister promises “successful” parliamentary and presidential elections

September 28, 2020

Palestinian Prime Minister Mohamed Shtayé promised on Monday that the next parliamentary and presidential elections, which will take place within six months and for the first time in about 15 years, will be “successful” and in line with the agreements between Al Fata and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

“We will remain resilient and not be defeated by the conspiracies hatched against us,” Shtayé said during a video conference meeting between Palestinian factions, as reported by the Palestinian news agency WAFA.

“Israel and the United States want to defeat us so we can surrender and embrace their project, but we will never do that,” he said before adding that the so-called “Deal of the Century” seeks to “subdue” the Palestinians.
