The Organization of American States (OAS) has rejected the “illegal” appointment of the Venezuelan National Electoral Council (CNE) this Friday, recalling the need for independent bodies to hold “fair, free and transparent” elections in the country.

In this way, the Permanent Council of the OAS has decided to condemn the “continued harassment by the illegitimate Nicolás Maduro regime” and its action against the functions that Venezuelan laws grant the National Assembly, political parties and democratic institutions. according to the organization.

With 21 votes, they also rejected the appointment of new CNE members by the Supreme Court (TSJ) and the “illegal naming” of party guidelines “with the greatest energy” First Justice and Democratic Action.
