The number of fatalities in clashes between municipalities in South Darfur in south-west Sudan rises to 30

Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok’s office confirmed that the death toll from clashes between communities in southwestern South Darfur on Tuesday rose to 30.

During the day, Hamdok called provincial governor Hashim Jalid, who ordered him to “strictly apply the law to impose state authority so that these attacks would not be repeated,” the Sudan Tribune news portal reports.

Khalid stated that the clashes were carried out by members of the Fallata and Rizaigat tribes in the villages of Jor Shamam and Mariya, although they later spread to seven other villages in the area.
