At least 19 people were injured in thirteen New York City shootings that Saturday, the New York City police department reports.
Police have said there have been six shootings in the Bronx neighborhood of New York, four in Brooklyn, two in Queens and one in Manhattan, NBC reported.
In addition, a 35-year-old man in Brooklyn was seriously injured after a neck shot. Police have confirmed that his agents have investigated eight other shootings and injured nine others since last Friday. and one is dead.
New York police announced on Monday the removal of civilian anti-crime units as part of reforms launched in response to protests against the death of African American George Floyd on May 25 during an arrest in Minneapolis. One of the functions of these units was to infiltrate the demonstrations.
