The ministers of the Islamist Ennahda party were released after the Tunisian prime minister’s resignation

The ministers of the moderate Islamist Ennahda party, which were part of the Tunisian government, have been removed from office after Prime Minister Elies Fajfaj’s resignation and tensions within the executive body in recent weeks.

Fajfaj resigned Wednesday because of an alleged conflict of interest that sparked Ennahda’s criticism and prompted the Islamist group to press a motion of no confidence to force his departure.

The Prime Minister announced on Monday that he would reshape the executive and indicated that these ministers would step down from their positions, although he finally resigned after meeting President Kais Saied on Wednesday.
