The Malian army reported this Thursday that it had “neutralized” a number of suspected terrorists following an ambush recorded in the center of the country that killed three soldiers and injured another 13.
In a statement, the Malian armed forces stated that the confrontation took place on Thursday morning near the city of Konna in the Mopti region.
In response to the ambush, the Army Air Force launched a counterattack that killed twenty terrorists, according to the Bamako news portal.
This type of attack has been widespread in the north and in the center of the African country for almost a decade. It is not known whether the attack was related to the August 18 coup.
