August 5, 2020

The prime suspect in the murder of German politician Walter Lübcke pleaded guilty in the first session of the trial against him that began on Wednesday before the Frankfurt Supreme Court.

Stephan Ernst initially confessed to the police, but later refused to appear before the investigating judge, so that he returned to his first version in court this Wednesday.

Ernst, a suspected right-wing radical, is said to have shot Lübcke in the head at an event on June 2, 2019 on the terrace of his Hessian house.
