The Lisbon region concentrates 75 percent of the 342 new infections registered in Portugal

In the Lisbon and Tajo Valley regions, 75 percent of the 342 new cases of coronavirus infection have occurred in the last 24 hours. This emerges from the Portuguese government’s latest bulletin, which also includes five deaths.

The Health DG report therefore reflects a slight decrease in infections compared to 382 on Saturday. Portugal reported a total of 34,693 infected and 1,479 deaths.

There are also 398 patients hospitalized for coronavirus, compared to 414 on Saturday, although the number of patients in the intensive care unit has increased from 57 to 58. People who have overcome the disease are 188 more to add 20,995 layoffs. The total number of active cases – less healed patients and deaths – is 12,219.

On the other hand, the economic and social stabilization plan of the Portuguese government was published in the Diario de la República at the end of last Saturday, which includes a 100 million euro increase in the national health service this year.

The plan therefore plans to employ almost 3,000 health professionals by December and increase the responsiveness of the health system.
