The Libyan government approves a new ten day curfew extension for coronavirus

The Libyan unitary government approved Tuesday a new ten-day curfew extension in the areas it controls, due to the increase in coronavirus cases.

The internationally recognized executive made a detailed statement that the curfew will remain in effect between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

However, he has authorized the mosques to open their doors for the first prayer of the day and the prayers on Friday if the precautions taken by the authorities are followed, the Libya Observer newspaper said.

The unitary government is at odds with the armed forces led by Field Marshal Jalifa Haftar, who launched an offensive against the city in April 2019, although it has been struck back in recent weeks.
