The first Litecoin native Visa debit card (LTC) is published by BlockCard.
Charlie Lee told Cointelegraph that this is is your second attempt at this task because the previous one failed: “We previously worked on a debit card with LitePay, but that couldn’t be when LitePay went bankrupt.”
Lee also pointed out differences between this native Litecoin debit card and other crypto cards that support the currency:
“There are other crypto debit cards that support Litecoin today, but that support only applies to LTC funding. This card is originally from LTC, so the balance will remain in LTC until you swipe the card“.
Although Litecoiner can already register to apply for the card, The service itself will not be available for a few weeks. In a lighter tone, Lee noted his view that “Litecoin maximalists” don’t exist:
“I don’t think it even exists. Most Litecoiner support and also have BTC“.
Users can make deposits in twelve of the most popular cryptocurrencies, including the main stable coins.. According to Lee, around 300 users have signed up so far. Meanwhile, Litecoin has consistently stayed in the top ten coins by market capitalization and has one of the biggest follower numbers on social media.
