Russia regards allegations against Omsk doctors as “insulting”
MADRID, 25 (EUROPE PRESS)
The Kremlin downplayed the credibility of the report released by German doctors on Monday, pointing to poisoning as the most likely hypothesis explaining the situation of Russian opponent Alexei Navalni, believing the report was drawn up in a hurry.
“We cannot take these allegations seriously,” which are “nothing more than empty noise,” said Russian Presidency spokesman Dimitri Peskov in statements to journalists on Tuesday, according to Russian officials.
With this in mind, he stressed that “first the substance must be identified in order to find out what caused the condition of Navalni”. To date he added, “All that can be said is that the patient is in a coma” and “there is no basis for an examination.”
