The key to the White House goes through the “hinge states”

In the United States, Republican politics are red and Democrats are blue. As in other parts of the world, the two major parties have traditional bastions where post-election elections select their candidate for the White House, but there are others where voters are not as loyal. It is precisely these so-called swing states or hinge states that tip the scales on one side or the other.
