The Israeli army attacks several targets in Gaza after the rocket launch

June 16, 2020

The Israeli army bombed several targets in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday after a missile was fired from this Palestinian area on Monday evening, which hit an open area in southern Israel, according to the Jerusalem Post newspaper.

The airstrikes target the infrastructure used for covert Hamas operations, while Israeli tanks have fired on the terrorist group’s military positions. The attacks took place in areas near Rafá and Jan Yunes.

A rocket had previously hit an open area without causing casualties and without triggering an alarm in the Eshkol area in southern Israel. The launch is the first since May 6 and is taking place amid growing tensions over annexation plans by the new Israeli government from parts of the West Bank.
