The Islamic State executes five kidnapped humanitarian workers in northeastern Nigeria

The Islamic State jihadist group in West Africa (ISWA) executed five humanitarian workers who kidnapped them on the highway between the Nigerian cities of Monguno and Maiduguri in the northeastern state of Borno in June.

The video released by the group, which is just over 30 seconds long, shows five hooded fighters behind the five hostages who appear kneeling and blindfolded. “This is a message to the unbelievers that you use to deceive people and turn them into unbelievers,” says a voice in Hausa.

“You should know that your employers only use you to achieve their goals, but they don’t care about you. So if we kidnap you, they don’t care about you,” he added, like the Nigerian newspaper Premium Times’ reports.

“Our advice is that you repent and return to God, otherwise we will continue to address or kidnap you in all the ways you have walked. If you do not listen to our warning, what will happen to these five humanitarian workers will your fate too “he warns.
