The ‘impeachment’ investigation commission concludes that Trump pressured to Ukraine for your electoral benefit

December 3, 2019

The commission of inquiry on the 'impeachment' of the House of Representatives has concluded that the president of the United States, Donald Trump, used his power to pressure Ukraine in order to promote an investigation for alleged corruption against Democratic candidate Joe Biden, his “political rival”, to influence the presidential elections of 2020.

The commission, formed in turn by the Supervision, Reform and Foreign Affairs commissions, published on Tuesday the investigation report that began last September to determine if there is a basis for a political trial against Trump.

“The impeachment investigation (…) has uncovered a prolonged effort of months by President Trump to use the powers of his office to request foreign interference on his behalf in the 2020 elections,” he says.

The report will serve as a basis for the Judicial Commission of the House of Representatives to write, where appropriate, the formal accusation against Trump so that the impeachment can begin in the strict sense.
