The Houthis claim to have attacked an airport in southern Saudi Arabia with drones

The Houthis said Tuesday they carried out a drone attack on an airport in Saudi Arabia. Thereafter, the Riyadh-led coalition spoke about the interception of a device in the area without giving further details.

Rebel military operations spokesman Yahya Sari has alleged that Abha Airport was hit with three explosive drones in response to the coalition’s “aggression” and “siege” against Yemen.

It was also suggested that the attack caused operations at the airport to be suspended for several hours. “Our operations will continue as long as the aggression and siege continue,” said Yemeni television broadcaster Al Masira.

Coalition spokesman Turki al Malki, for his part, stressed that the international armed forces had “intercepted and destroyed” a drone loaded with explosives that was fired by the Houthis from Yemen without commenting on the target of the device.
