Gibraltar Finance has been announced as the official partner of the upcoming hackathon that will take place after COVID, a global online initiative to develop open source solutions to address the health, social and economic problems of the post-COVID 19 era.
Hundreds of internationally trained teams from the field of distributed general ledger technology (DLT) are expected to take part in the event. Over 200 industry experts are expected to support the participants.
Albert Isola, Minister for Digital and Financial Services of Gibraltar, He expressed pride in the government’s participation in the hackathon and said that “the COVID-19 pandemic has brought with it a number of new global challenges.”
“I am excited and I look forward to the dynamic solutions that this initiative will bring to help global communities adapt to the post-pandemic world. We are happy to support and be part of this great work“he added.
Coinsilium and Indorse will host the hackathon
The Post-COVID hackathon is co-organized by a Gibraltar-based investor and advisor to the first blockchain companies, Coinsilium and a Singapore-based fintech technology company, Indorse.

Developers support DLT solutions for COVID 19 crises
The event is also supported by RSK Smart Contract developers and the blockchain incubator Tribe Accelerator.
Diego Zaldivar, the CEO of IOVLabs, the team behind RSK, said: “We are very excited to be part of this initiative as our mission is to enable financial inclusion through our platforms.”. He added:

Online events after the COVID hackathon begin on August 10 and last until November.
