The French government is withdrawing en bloc to facilitate the renovation
French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe has announced the resignation of his entire government this Friday, an earlier step towards a predictable change, the Elysée reported.
Philippe formalized the resignation before French President Emmanuel Macron “who accepted it”. According to a brief statement from the Presidential Office, the members of the current cabinet will remain in office until a new team is appointed.
Macron had already expected a conversion after the local elections, with which La República en Marcha (LREM) achieved a worse result than expected. The media has speculated these days with the withdrawal of the Philippe government that won the mayor of Le Havre in northern France in these elections.
