Former head of the dissolved guerrillas of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) Rodrigo Londoño, aka “Timochenko”, appeared before the Special Justice for Peace (JEP) for the first time this Tuesday to make a statement on the recruitment of children during the Conflict in the country.
Through his report on the social network Twitter, Londoño has highlighted the fact that he gives a “voluntary version” of the involvement of minors in the conflict and stressed that “as a revolutionary he is not afraid of the truth”. “We will not abandon Colombia, neither the victims nor the national desire for peace with social justice,” he added.
“In my appearance I will explain our admissions policy, our policy of sexual and reproductive health and care. I apologize for the behavior that members of our late guerrillas may have committed in these matters. That should never have happened,” he said.
He stressed that “he will not hesitate” when it comes to “telling the facts for which he appears before the JEP” with complete transparency “and stressed that his commitment” is to work for peace with Social justice work and this is only possible through the hand of truth and reconciliation. “
