The Foreign Ministers of Turkey and Malta meet with Serraj to discuss the situation in Libya

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu met on Thursday with his Maltese counterpart Evarist Bartolo and the Prime Minister of the Libyan unity government Fayez Serraj to discuss the situation in Libya.

The parties, which discussed the latest developments related to the war, have announced possible steps to achieve a political solution to the war, the Turkish news agency Anatolia reports.

Cavusoglu, who praised the behavior of the Maltese government in relation to the crisis in the African country, took the opportunity to criticize Germany for joining the European Union mission to control the arms embargo against Libya.

The IRINI operation, which started last May and is set to last until 2021, was therefore classified as “partial” by Cavusoglu, who reminded that Germany must be “neutral and objective”.
