The Finnish President ends coronavirus isolation and returns to work

The President of Finland, Sauli Niinisto, has ended his isolation due to the coronavirus and has returned to work after being quarantined because of close contact with Latvian President Egils Levits, whose positive for COVID-19 has come to light came in the last week.

“I’m going back to my normal rhythm, without the coronavirus. The vaccination protects; I’m waiting for the third dose,” Niinist said on his social networks. The Finnish President was in Sweden last Thursday to attend an intergovernmental forum.

During his visit, he went to breakfast with Levits who subsequently had a routine COVID-19 test that came back positive. The already vaccinated Niinistro decided to stay in isolation as a precaution and canceled his meeting with the Estonian President Alar Karis.
