EU Foreign Policy High Representative Josep Borrell asked Serbia and Kosovo for “political courage” in the talks they are holding to facilitate mutual recognition by both sides.
“The talks must have the political courage of both parties,” said Borrell before a video conference with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Kosovar Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti.
The goal, Borrell emphasized, was “a comprehensive, final and legally binding standardization agreement”. “The lack of a solution hampers the development of both parties,” he warned, admitting that the solution “will not be easy.”
The EU Special Representative for the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Miroslav Lajcak, also participates in these contacts. This process is approved and supported by Germany and France.
