The guerrillas of the Paraguayan People’s Army (EPP) are calling for the release of two of their leaders in exchange for former Vice President Óscar Denis, who was kidnapped with his driver on Wednesday, as reported by the family of the former leader, who assured them that the kidnappers threatened to execute him if his demands are not met.
At a press conference this Friday, Denis ‘daughters showed a bag left by the kidnappers that said “Please hand it over to Óscar Denis’ family.”
The guerrillas are demanding that Carmen Villalba and Alcides Oviedo, two of their leaders who are in prison for kidnapping, be released within 72 hours. They are also asking the family to deliver food to 40 communities worth a total of $ 2 million, according to ABC Color.
“If they fail to comply within eight days, the case will be closed and the prisoner will be shot,” said the kidnappers in their message to the family, which Edith Denis read to the press.
