After information about a possible shortage in the province of Azuay (south), the Ecuadorian government assured the listed company EP Petroecuador that the public company EP Petroecuador has sufficient stocks to supply the whole country with fuel.
The Agency for the Regulation and Control of Energy and Non-Renewable Natural Resources (ARCERNNR), for its part, has intensified delivery controls at national level to check whether the supply is satisfactory at all marketing points, the Ecuavisa chain collects.
In light of news of a possible shortage in Azuay, 420,000 gallons have been allocated to the area, where marketing to industrial customers and gas stations is a priority.
However, the agency has not recognized the delay due to the weather conditions of one of the cargo ships going to Santa Elena Province (west), which affected the shipment of fuel scheduled for distribution, as stated in a statement by EP Petroecuador.
To prevent this situation from happening again, EP Petroecuador has put in place a transport contingency plan and instructed all dispatching operations centers to provide the necessary facilities and longer working hours to fuel the southern part of the country .
