The National Electoral Council (CNE) of Ecuador removed the Force Compromiso Social Lista 5 movement of former Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa from the register of political organizations authorized to vote in the next 2021 election this Sunday.
The election committee has also decided to take administrative measures against three other formations. Freedom is people, together we can and social justice that cannot take part in the following elections.
In this way, the CNE has given the formations ten days to present their evidence, allegations and observations in response to their decision, which they believe is based on non-compliance with constitutional and legal requirements upon registration, reports the newspaper ‘El Comercio’ .
Correa denounced Tuesday that the CNE would remove qualified political organizations from the registration movement. “We’re being robbed of democracy again,” the former president wrote on Twitter.
