The difference between entrepreneur and visionary

One of the big differences between an entrepreneur and a visionary is the timeframe with which you plan.

I remember very well since I was a kid, my dad told me, no matter what, never stop trying, even if it seems very difficult. He said that the moment you stop trying, you have already lost, because even if it doesn’t turn out as you expected or not at all, you get stuck with it Teaching and experience that will serve you for the future.

Now when I wonder whether I’m going to do something or not and think about what my father said, I add the words at the end: “What have you got to lose?” That way, unless you believe that the world will end if you literally fail, you can do more things than you thought possible. And since you’ve tried to get one result, you do something else and get a different result. So when you least expect it, those accumulated achievements can lead you to accomplish something very important.

There’s a quote from Tony Robbins – writer, speaker, and entrepreneur – that I really like and he says:

“Most people overestimate what they can do in a year and underestimate what they can do in a decade.”

That said, the horizon of the goals we generally set for ourselves is short-term, we don’t want to look any further and we limit ourselves to what we think we are doing, whether our goal is to have greater numbers of sales in the US To achieve semesters, start a business in less than a year or get a raise in a few months. What we don’t realize, however, is that if we set a really big long-term goal and plan the steps we need to take to move forward along the way, we can work miracles.

John F. Kennedy, former President of the United States, did not underestimate what his country’s space program could achieve when, in one of his memorable speeches at Rice University in 1962, he said: “We choose to go to the moon and the Getting the rest done, not because the goals are easy, but because they are difficult, because this challenge is to organize and measure the best of our energies and abilities. “Needless to say, it was thanks to this goal that man stepped on the moon in 1969.

Just like there are now companies that think big like Tesla, which is revolutionizing the automotive industry, Singularity University, which aims to empower technology change through education, and Google, which is redefining the way we search and access information s must think this now. What they can achieve in a decade or two may completely change the industry they started in, or more.

So if you want to become a visionary like Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, or Henry Ford, you need to think about what you want to achieve in the long term and plan from there what to do this year. But of course to do all of this you have to try first.
