The deaths and stays in hospital continue to fall in New York, where another 306 deaths are recorded each day

New York governor Andrew Cuomo confirmed on Thursday that the number of daily coronavirus deaths and hospitalizations continued to decrease in the state where another 306 deaths were confirmed on the last day, 24 fewer than on Wednesday.

Cuomo, who stressed in a press conference that this is the day with the fewest deaths since March 30, stressed that the number of new hospital stays continues to decrease.

Likewise, the number of admitted patients declined for the 17th day in a row and is now below 12,000, a 40 percent decrease since the middle of the month when it was around 19,000.

The most affected state in the U.S. has exceeded 300,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus and tested more than 900,000 people, 5 percent of its population.
