June 9, 2020

The death of a prisoner in the prison in the Ecuadorian city of Turi in Azuay, suspected of being infected with coronavirus, triggered an attempted uprising on Monday that was resolved hours later.

In particular, a 66-year-old man died on Saturday afternoon in the intensive care unit of the José Carrasco Arteaga Hospital. He was taken with a severe picture of pneumonia and had previous pathologies such as heart problems.

In addition, a man and a woman from the same prison with pneumonia are hospitalized, and there are other inmates who have not had a coronavirus diagnostic test and have breathing problems.
