Without a doubt, we all hope that the COVID-19 pandemic will end soon. There has to be a vaccine for that. In this context, the General Director of World Health Organization (WHO)Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that a vaccine could be ready by the end of this 2020.
The official also called for the solidarity of world leaders who are part of WHO to ensure an equitable distribution of the vaccine. “We need vaccines and there is hope we can have one by the end of this year,” he said.
These statements were part of the WHO Governing Body meeting where countries such as Germany, the United Kingdom and Australia called for reforms to strengthen the multilateral body.

The WHO aims to distribute 2 billion doses by the end of 2021. So far, nine experimental vaccines are in the study process that are part of the global Covax initiative.
On the other hand, Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, told the board of directors of The Wall Street Journalthat developed countries could go back to normal by the end of 2021 if a vaccine works.
