The COVID-19 pandemic exceeds eight million cases and has already left nearly 437,000 deaths

The pandemic of the new corona virus, which originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan, has infected more than eight million people and caused nearly 437,000 deaths worldwide, according to the latest Johns Hopkins University.

According to data updated at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, the global equilibrium of the coronavirus amounts to 8,034,461 cases and 436,899 deaths in 188 countries and areas.

The total number of people recovered exceeds 3.84 million, with the United States topping the list with 576,334 healed patients, followed by Brazil with 477,709 and Russia with 284,021.

The United States is by far the most affected country by the pandemic, with 2.11 million people suffering from the new coronavirus disease and 116,125 deaths, most of them in New York State.
