Hailing from the Chinese city of Wuhan, the coronavirus pandemic has registered 228,588 new cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to more than 27.3 million infected people and more than 892,000 deaths this Tuesday from Johns Hopkins University across the 188 affected countries and territories .
A total of 27,342,332 people became infected with the virus, more than half of whom live in the three hardest-hit countries – the US, India and Brazil – while 892,714 have already died.
In terms of recovery, more than 18.34 million people have already managed to overcome COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by the virus. Brazil tops the list with just over 3.54 million patients cured, followed by India with more than 3.32 million and the United States with more than 2.33 million.
The United States remains the world’s worst-hit country with 6.30 million people infected and 189,215 deaths, after adding 24,257 new cases since the last balance, the lowest daily figure since June 21.
