Hailing from the Chinese city of Wuhan, the coronavirus pandemic has registered more than 314,000 new cases in the past 24 hours. That equates to a total of more than 30 million people infected and more than 946,000 deaths this Friday from Johns Hopkins University.
A total of 30,183,223 people have contracted the virus, more than half of whom live in the three hardest hit countries – the US, India and Brazil – while there are already 946,158 deaths.
In terms of recovery, more than 20.53 million people have already managed to overcome COVID-19, the respiratory disease caused by the virus. India tops the list with more than 4.11 million patients cured.
The United States remains the most pandemic-hit country in the world, with 6.67 million infected and 197,643 deaths, after adding more than 44,000 new cases from the previous balance.
