The coronavirus pandemic, which originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan, has already claimed more than 857,000 deaths among the more than 25.7 million infected countries and areas worldwide.
A total of 25,761,430 people were infected with the virus – about 264,000 more on the last day – of which more than half live in the three most severely affected countries – the US, Brazil and India – where 857,263 have already died.
In terms of recovery, more than 17 million people have already managed to overcome COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus. Brazil tops the list with just over 3.3 million patients cured, followed by India with more than 2.9 million and the United States with just over 2.2 million.
The United States remains the world’s most affected country by the pandemic, with 6.07 million infected and 184,689 fatalities, after more than 43,000 new cases have been added since the last equilibrium.
