The coronavirus pandemic is nearly 340,000 deaths, while Latin America is a new epicenter

The new coronavirus pandemic originating in the Chinese city of Wuhan has already left 338,000 deaths and more than 5.2 million infected worldwide. The US has added nearly 24,000 cases in the past 24 hours and Latin America is on its way to becoming the new epicenter of the epidemic, according to the latest Johns Hopkins University record.

According to data updated at 8:30 a.m. this Saturday, the global equilibrium of coronavirus is 5,213,557 cases and 338,232 deaths in 188 countries and areas.

On a positive note, the total number of people recovered has risen to over two million, with the United States topping the list with 350,135 people cured, followed by Germany with 159,064 rescued patients and Spain with 150,376.

The United States remains the most affected country by the pandemic, adding 23,800 cases in the last 24 hours, for a total of 1.6 million people infected and 96,007 deaths.
