The coronavirus pandemic has infected over 18 million people in the 188 countries affected by COVID-19, including nearly 700,000 deaths. This emerges from the balance offered by Jhons Hopkins University on Tuesday.
A total of 18,288,573 people have been infected with the virus and 693,805 have died compared to 18,079,136 and 689,347 on Monday, an increase of 209,437 cases and 8,626 deaths. On a positive note, 10.9 million people recovered from the previous day’s 10.6 million.
The United States remains the worst affected country with 4,717,568 cases and 155,469 deaths, followed by Brazil with 2,750,318 infected and 94,665 deaths and India with 1,855,745 infected and 38,938 deaths.
