The new coronavirus pandemic originating in the Chinese city of Wuhan has recorded a total of 174,400 cases in the past 24 hours. This is the second highest number since the pandemic started, just behind the 177,000 on Wednesday according to the latest Johns Hopkins University report of more than 8.6 million infected and more than 460,000 deaths.
According to data updated this Saturday at 9:00 a.m., the global coronavirus balance is 8.66 million cases and 460,043 deaths in 188 countries and areas. The total number of people recovered exceeds 4.24 million, with the United States at the top of the list with 606,715 people cured.
The United States remains the most affected country by the pandemic, with 2.2 million infected and 119,131 fatalities after 27,800 cases have been registered in the last 24 hours.
Brazil remains in second place with 54,000 positive results in the last 24 hours, resulting in over a million infections (1,032,913) and 48,954 deaths. Russia remains in third place with 568,292 positive and 7,831 deaths after adding 8,000 cases from the previous balance.
