The pandemic of the new corona virus originating in the Chinese city of Wuhan has registered more than 204,000 cases in the past 24 hours. This is the second highest number in the daily series, leading to more than 10.8 million infections with more of 521,000 deaths, according to the latest Johns Hopkins University report.
According to data updated this Friday at 9:30 a.m., the balance increases to 10.8 million infected and 521,337 deaths in 188 countries and territories. The total number of people recovered exceeds 5.75 million, with Brazil toping the list with 957,692 people cured.
The United States remains the most affected country by the pandemic, setting a new daily record of 52,300 positives, just one day after the previous maximum of 50,700 positives. In North America, the balance increases to 2.73 million cases and 128,740 deaths.
In second place, Brazil has had 48,100 cases in the last 24 hours, in which 1.49 million people are already infected and 61,884 deaths have been reported. Together, the United States and Brazil have added more than 98,000 infections out of a total of 204,100 worldwide in the past 24 hours. Russia remains in third global position with 660,231 positive and 9,668 deaths.
