The new coronavirus pandemic, which originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan, has recorded 178,500 cases in the last 24 hours, the third highest number in the daily count. A total of 9.6 million people with more than 489,000 deaths are infected around the world, according to the latest report by Johns Hopkins University.
According to data updated at 9:30 a.m. this Friday, the global coronavirus balance is 9.6 million cases and 489,343 deaths in 188 countries and areas. The total number of people recovered exceeds 4.83 million, with Brazil at the top of the list with 679,624 people healed.
The United States remains the country most affected by the pandemic, setting a new daily record of 40,000 cases, with 2.42 million infected and 124,415 fatalities. Brazil remains in second place with 39,500 positive results, with a total of 1.22 million infections and 54,971 deaths. Russia remains in third place with 613,148 positive and 8,594 deaths.
INDIA MARKS RECORD FOR THE THIRD FOLLOWING DAY
In fourth place, India surpasses 490,000 cases with a total of 490,401 positive and 15,301 deaths after breaking its daily record for the third time in a row, this time with 17,300 infections. Next, the UK registers 309,455 infected and 43,314 deaths off Peru with 268,602 sick and 8,761 deaths.
