The Colombian unemployment committee decides to suspend negotiations, according to the government

The Colombian Unemployment Committee has decided to suspend talks with the government as part of negotiations between the two parties to resolve the crisis that has plagued the country since the protests erupted last April, as suggested by The Executive.

“The National Unemployment Committee has decided to unilaterally suspend the dialogue with the national government,” said Presidential Advisor Emilio Archila, coordinator of the dialogues with the committee, on his Twitter account. For its part, the government has stated that it “confirms its desire for dialogue”.

The government has declared that the committee has “left the country for lack of solutions and without condemning the blockades” and has declared that it is ready to continue negotiations in order to reach a text on guarantees for the demonstrations and in the subjects called for by the committee, according to ‘El Tiempo’.
